Layaway Program

In order to put merchandise on layaway, come in to your local store and pick out the items you want. Starting a layaway plan requires a small down payment in order to get your information into the system. Then, payments of at least $10 are required every two weeks. These payments can be made by coming into the store or sending them via mail and can be made using credit/debit, cash, or check.
The final payment is due within 24 months. Putting items on layaway does not mean that the merchandise will be held at the American Freight store; instead, it guarantees the price. After your final payment has been made, please allow up to four weeks for your order to become available. Once the merchandise arrives, you can choose to pick it up or have it delivered.

American Freight does not represent to hold the merchandise at the sale location once the account is opened but will guarantee the price. We request a minimum of four weeks’ notice after final payment has been made, prior to pick-up or delivery of your merchandise, to ensure your order is in stock. If you are current on your payments and your merchandise is not available within a four week period, you will be entitled to a full refund or all layaway payments. No refunds are issued after 10 days from the initial layaway except as provided above. After 6 months all delinquent layaway accounts are subject to a service charge of ten ($10.00) dollars per month to bear the expenses of the layaway program and its administration. NO MERCHANDISE WILL BE REMOVED FROM INVENTORY UNTIL YOU HAVE MADE YOUR FINAL PAYMENT ON THAT SALE.
LAYAWAY ARRANGEMENTS ARE PROVIDED SOLELY TO PROVIDE AMERICAN FREIGHT CUSTOMERS A MEANS TO GUARANTEE THE PRICE OF ORDERED MERCHANDISE.
SPECIFIC MERCHANDISE MAY NOT BE RETAINED AT AMERICAN FREIGHT, BUT MAY BE HELD IN INVENTORY, READY FOR DELIVERY, BY THE MANUFACTURER, UPON PROPER NOTICE BY THE CUSTOMER TO AMERICAN FREIGHT
Layaway payments of at least ten dollars ($10.00) must be made every two (2) weeks. Final payment shall be due within twenty-four (24) months of the initial date of the transaction. American Freight shall not be required to hold the merchandise at the sale location once the account is opened. American Freight requires, and the customer must provide, four (4) weeks’ notice in advance of final payment, prior to pick-up or delivery of the customer’s merchandise. If the customer is current on their payments and the merchandise is not available within the four-week period after notice, the customer shall be entitled to a full refund of all layaway payments.
For sales of five hundred dollars ($500.00) or less, if the customer breaches the layaway arrangement, American Freight shall charge a fee of the lesser of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or ten percent (10%) of the sales price of the merchandise under the layaway arrangement.
For sales greater than five hundred dollars ($500.00), if the customer breaches the layaway arrangement or terminates the layaway arrangement after ten (10) days, American Freight shall charge a fee of fifty percent (50%) of all deposits made through the time of the breach or termination of the layaway arrangement; however, the customer shall be allowed the option to purchase other merchandise equal in price to the total amount paid to American Freight under the layaway arrangement as of the date of the breach. This layaway arrangement may be cancelled, at any time, by giving written notice to American Freight. A refund shall be issued within 30 days pursuant to the terms of this layaway
arrangement less any applicable fees. It is the customer’s responsibility to inform American Freight of any change of address.
The customer shall have ten (10) days to request a full refund on a layaway payment; thereafter no refunds shall be issued except as provided herein.
